The Lewis River
Dated 5/27/11

Its another
whopper by Annette Crews Guys!!!!!! 23 inches and just over 5 pounds.
Caught using a BH seal bugger size 10 with a sinking fly line at
Swift Reservoir.
This was the
biggest fish of the day but there were others that Smokey and Annette
caught using the same tactics to fill the limit out which were all very
nice in size. Take note there are many hold overs in Swift reservoir
due to its size.
Dated 5/21/11
Swift
Reservoir is doing extremely well for stocked trout in the 14-16 inch
range. Fly fishing with sinking leader or sinking lines is the best in
about 6-12 feet of water.
Good patterns to use include the woolly bugger, seal bugger and leech patterns in black and olive in about size 10.

Mark and Dan with a double fly fishing Swift resevoir.
Dated 5/21/11

Mark and Dan with a full limit of trout from Swift Reservoir.
Dated 5/21/11

Sean with a nice rainbow brood stock from Horse Shoe lake in Woodland Washington.
Dated 4/4/11
Dated 11/30/10
Water level is low for this time of year at 5400 CFS
Winter steelies present and being caught.
Checkout the WDFW regs concerning this area before fishing. Special openings and closures are being adhered to here.
Dated 10/24/10
The area above
Eagle Cliff and Swift Resevoir will close on 10/31/10 but has some
prolific fishing in this area during the fall season with a fly rod.
During the
days the caddis and emerger patterns are very prolific and can provide
a fantastic fly fishing oppurtunity. You can expect most people to be
doing the silvers and deer hunting this time of year so here is a
hidden fly fishing treasure for some one willing to do alittle hiking
through the woods.
Good numbers
of stone fly nymphs can also be found here along with dying kokane so
take flesh patterns and egg flies like a BH Lifter.
Take your foul weather gear here as the snow can fly during the middle of the day in October.
8/31/10
The increased rain should move many fish into the tributaries and make them more aggressive.
Now is the time to break the fly rod out for a steelhead and trout experience.
Dated 8/30/10
.
Steelhead are present and the first hatchery coho have arrived at hatchery
Fly rodding is fair to good depending on area and time fished..
Access difficult and use of a drift boat is recommended.
Dated 7/26/10
Summer run steelies present.
Fly rodding is fair to good.
Lots of private land makes access difficult
Best access is by Drift boat or pontoon boat.
