EAST LAKE DAILY FISHING REPORT

Dated 5/9/10

Good for German Browns and Rainbows on the fly.

DATED 6/15/09

It has been a while since having a report from East lake but here we go, and its a good one folks.

The Lake is alive with large Brown trout and are not shy about taking flies. They in particular like Chironimids fished about 12-15 feet down and with a strike indicator.
Notice the size 14 Chironimid in the beak of this lovely brown. George was using 5x tippet to beat also. Nice fish George!!!!!!

The browns should be cruising the shorelines at this time of year plan on using slow sinking fly lines and streamer patterns to target these fish.

The hatches will begin to occur during the entire day on this lake as it has some more elevation and the temperatures are cooler at this time of year. The fish are also getting ready for the winter and thus they will begin to feed on larger things like forage fish in the shallows. Plan on using slow sinking lines and floaters. Patterns to use in this lake would be Wooly Buggers, Muddler Minnows, Matukas, Comparaduns, CDC Emergers, Chironimids. These patterns should take a variety of fish in this lake

This is prime time for East Lake. The callibeatis hatch is going strong and should provide excellent fishing opportunity for the next few weeks till the lake closes October 31st, 2008. The elk hair caddis can also provide excellent result on this lake.

East Lake is currently doing well for German Browns and Rainbows. Kokanee also present.

You may want to visit the red fissure on the far side of the lake and the bluff area also on the north side. These areas have been big fish producers in the past.
